Ralph – Classic Specialist
Ralph started his interest in Land Rovers at the tender age of 9, working on a Series 1 86”. On leaving school, he joined the Army as a Royal Corps of Transport driver for four years. After a brief spell of lorry driving, he then worked at a general garage. A few years later he then joined an independent Land Rover specialist as a Technician. He joined Mansfield 4×4 in 1994 as Workshop Manager and was made Manager at Bury St Edmunds in 2001.

Current Land Rover: Range Rover Classic, Freelander 2.

Frank – Diagnostic Technician

Frank began sweeping the workshop at Mansfield 4×4 on a Saturday while still at school in 2003. He went on to undertake an apprenticeship through us in 2008 to gain his NVQ Level 3. Throughout his career he has continued to grow and develop his skills, attending countless courses and researching in his spare time to keep up to date with modern day complex motor vehicle electronics systems. He is a qualified MOT tester, and Air-Con trained. In his spare time, he enjoys off-roading and re-building his Defender 90 – Bluey.

David – General Manager

Dave has an extensive background in business development, sales management, and customer service, having worked in various retail sectors throughout his career. He has been in the Motor Trade since 2017 and began working at Mansfield 4×4 in 2020, working his way up to his current role as a General Manager.

Current Land Rover: Freelander 1

Andrew – Service Manager

Andrew has been in the Motor Trade since 1981; he has worked with independents and dealers in various roles including management and has been self-employed. He has experience both in the workshop and in the office, which creates a great advantage in his current role with us as a Workshop Manager. In his spare time, he is currently re-building his beloved Land Rover 110 Station Wagon – Whippy.

Keith – Workshop Manager 

Keith has been in the motor trade since leaving college in 1988. He started his career in the workshop before finding his niche in parts, and held a regional managers position at his previous job. Keith has worked with a great variety of dealers so has lots of experience in finding a wide range of parts. Keith loves nothing more than spending his time with his family outside of work. His other interests include motor bike racing, rugby & martial arts.

James – Parts Manager

James started working at Mansfield 4×4 in October 2021 as a Parts Assistant and very quickly worked his way up to his current role as a Parts Advisor. He is experienced in customer service having worked in retail previously, and more recently worked as a windscreen fitter.

Amy – Personal Assistant

Amy joined us towards the end of 2021, she has helped in various roles within the company and is most at home when she’s organising! Amy has very much caught the Land Rover bug and has previously owned a Freelander 1 & Freelander 2 and is currently working on re-building her Defender 90 – Dig

Toby – Chief Technician

Toby started working at Mansfield 4×4 in 2012 for work experience from West Suffolk College. He went on to take an apprenticeship with us to gain his NVQ Level 2 and then on to NVQ Level 3 qualification. He is a qualified MOT tester & Air-Con trained. He has worked his way up to become our Chief Technician.

Steve – Master Technician

Steve has been in the Motor Trade since 1985, he has worked at various main dealers on all sorts of vehicles and started working at Mansfield 4×4 in November 2020 as a Master Technician. He is qualified to NVQ Level 4, an MOT tester, Air-Con and Hybrid trained. In his spare time, he likes to Motocross.

Charles – Technician

Charles started his career in the Royal Air Force as a General Technician (Mechanical) at the age of 17 in 2011, cutting his teeth on Land Rovers and HGV’s. 10 years later, after deciding to leave the RAF, he moved onto working in a HGV main dealership workshop for the next 2 years. In 2023, Charles joined the Mansfield 4×4 team after being drawn back to Land Rovers. During his career he has owned a 1984 Land Rover 90, 1993 Discovery 1, 2002 Discovery 2, and now daily drives a 2007 Discovery 3.

Michelle – Bookkeeper

Michelle started working at Mansfield 4×4 in 2019 as a cleaner. When our bookkeeper was due to retire, she became her apprentice and undertook a bookkeeping course, and began her current role in February 2022. She has always loved Land Rovers and has owned countless different 4x4s over the years.
